When I was younger, I was convinced my GRANDPA Fisher was once a girl.  He would begin stories by saying:
"When I was a little girl like you..."
He was teasing, of course, but I was so confused.

Grandpa has since passed away.  But this is one of my favorite memories of him. :)

I guess the only way I can relate on this one is that I was "once a little girl" :)

My dad (who has since passed away as well) was a big teaser too. Miss him!

That is so cute. My grandpa as well is a big tease, he is constantly cracking jokes. That's a really funny story that it made you so confused as a little girl:)

My grandpa has passed away too, I miss him like crazy! My grandpa wasn't a tease, he like to joke but he was kinda quiet.

My Mom's Dad is also a huge tease. He loved to confuse the grand kids and is always using funny sayings that make no sense.

such a cute picture of you and your grandpa!!

I once cried when my grandpa "stole my nose."

I sobbed because I wanted my nose back and he had taken it.

no worries though. i have a nose.

I read a story about a boy named after his grampa "Clyde." It went on and on about how embarrassed was to have such a ridiculous name and how bad he hated it. Of course the story was all about being proud of the name you were given, bla, bla--but it made me feel really bad for a long time because my grampa's name was Clyde.
I thought it was a cool name for a little old man.

My grandpa has also passed away. I miss him a lot but it's fun to look back and remember all the fun times I spent with him.

Awwww! My Grampa would always call girls "Blondie." This would make sense if he was talking to most of his granddaughters, but he was also the branch president of a Vietnamese branch... and would call them Blondie too! Don't they come up with the most random stuff? :)

My grandpa always (and still does) whisper in my ear and tell me that I am his favorite grandchild, but that I shouldn't tell any of the others because it would hurt thier feelings. Later...we found out...he tells us ALL the same thing! We are glad to share the title.

Well Kali, you weren't the only one confused. Whenever I'd get upset as a child or was crying, Dad would always comfort me by saying, "Well, when I was a little girl...." It was a comfort as a child, but as I got older I always wondered when I was going to change into a boy!!!!! I love the picture of you and Dad. Thanks, your auntie M.

What a beautiful picture of you and your Grandpa!!! My Grandpa used to sit in a chair JUST like that, only it was brown! I remember one of the VERY VERY few times that I sat in it as a kid was just after I got back from a rotten dentist visit... and I got sick!!! Oh I was embarrassed. :(

I sit just adore my Grandpa and his great stories and jokes!

One of the best memories of my grandpa was putting pink curlers in his hair while he was sleeping in front of the tv. He's have his can of pepsi next to him...I miss my grandparents & wish I could have gotten to know them better in my older years - they all passed by the time I was in middle school.

Hi Kali this is your Aunt Kathy. Ya know, Dad did say that alot. I got to hear it longer than you! I told that little thing years ago at my work - I said - whenever I was crying about something, my Dad would put me on his lap and say that everything would be alright cause that same thing always happened "when he was a little girl". When everyone heard my story, they asked how old I was when I finally found out he never was a little girl. I thought "oh I don't know - 9 or 10". They all died laughing and then said that maybe that's why I was so messed up and that my Dad shouldn't have done that, maybe I was mental or something. Love Aunt Kathy
(I'll take that Boston t-shirt in an extra large!)

Okay.. this one is better.. When I was a little girl.. I always thought that I was blind because I could see all sorts of colors.. but my eyes were brown.. I thought that I should only be able to see brown!

When my sister was little she would always start stories/threats with "well when I was your mom" or "when i'm your mom, i'm going to..." the poor thing was a bit confused on how the whole motherhood thing works. To this day she will preface her stories with, "I can't remember if this really happened or if this was a dream but.." With all the confusion already in her little head, I hate to think what her stories will be like when she has grandkids.

Neal always calls the kids the opposite of what they are. In fact, he probably called you a little boy once or twice just to confuse you. Neal always says: "Once when I was in the army..." He never was in the army. Men are a bit crazy I think.

Sounds like you had a fun, humorous grandpa :) I never met one of my grandpas and the other passed away when I was five, so my memories of him are small. But I can't wait to reunite with them one day!

My dad always said that too... silly boys!
