but I'm glad to be back.
i was dreading the flight. i was dreading the inconvenience of city life, once again.
BUT as I headed down my usual route to go grocery shopping today, i found myself in one of those moments where you just stop and take everything in, and just feel. Feel warmth. Feel happy. Feel home. and most importantly, feel overwhelmed with gratitude. and I noticed things that have been here all along, but never really appreciated. the hustle and bustle. the parks. the fountains. the smells. the cool moist air surrounding me. the cute old italians. THE INCONVENIENCE OF CITY LIFE...only this time, i liked it. and i guess its not so inconvenient, after all. it's just...different. and being a person that has never been able to accept change very well, its hard for me to admit that different isn't bad. it's just different. and maybe different can be good. and yes, it has taken me almost a year to get to this point, but i think i can finally stop saying i hate boston, and start calling it my home.

Yay for Kali! I'm happy that your happy. And it was so much fun having you here for a while. Let's not make it almost year in between visits this time!
I'm glad that you feel "home"! I'm sure your family was sooo happy to see you... but how exciting that you're starting your own sweet little family! :)
oh, I'm glad for you. Malcolm and I might be moving to arizona--and I'm absolutely DREADING it. I don't know how I'll survive. I hate change as well--but, if you can do it, then maybe I can too!
oh, how I see so many commonalities in your life and mine.
I should have told you that 'they' say it takes about a year to be able to start calling every new place you live, home.
I'm happy for you.
My hub and I will be moving to NYC next year for an internship/study abroad. I think it would be cool to meet up in Boston, or NY and go on a double date. (if you guys are still in Boston) That would be super cool.
The cute old italians were my favorite part of living in boston too =) hehe
