on the map

do you use google maps?
i find them to be oh, so helpful.
especially when i lived in boston.
we googled everything.
anyway,
if ever get the urge to type
1129 beacon st., brookline ma 02446
into google maps
and then click street view,
you will stumble upon this awesome display:

and there you will find jared, wade, susan and i
working hard (or hardly working)
on the day jared and susan moved to boston.
that would be their moving truck.
and that would be me, doing some awesome supervising
(i was six months pregnant)
the google car just happened to drive by
with their big ol' camera.
and jared waved.
i love that he is waving.
and when he called at 1 am to tell us we were famous on google maps,
i laughed for ten minutes.
so worth being woken up for.

the reveal

as promised, here is the little project i have been working on.
i still need about 10 more wine crates to finish it up, but since they are so hard to find, who knows when i will be done.  so i figured i would just show you half of it.  it's in the corner of my living room, so eventually i want it to feel up that corner, with basically two rows on each of the walls.  that is why one side is all jagged and the other is even.

i love the jagged edge.  it makes it feel more rustic to me.  basically all i did was pull all the metal staples out and then stain the crates with a dark walnut stain.  i really loved the stamped and engraved labels on the wood, so as soon as i painted a coat of stain on, i wiped it off so that you could still see the stamps through the stain.

then i stacked them up how i wanted them and my fabulous husband screwed them all together.
i'm in love with it.

our week

was spent like this:

fevers.
throwing up.
vertigo.
bronchitis.
sinus infections.
1 ER visit.
1 dr. visit.
2 prescriptions filled.

and i think we are finally all starting to feel better around here.
although i can't quite be sure because miles is either still feeling yucky,
or has a serious case of the terrible two's,
starting a little too early for my liking.
he honestly has learned to throw a tantrum
by flopping himself on the floor and just laying there.
also, today he got mad and shoved a cup of juice out of my arms and all over my white shirt.
it was awesome.
it was also in public.
we are thinking of having his name permanently changed to grumpy pants.
